The November Family Saturday will be a celebration of dreams! Let’s imagine together envisioning blues-infused stories, drumming into new futures, and being swept away by colorful films.

Logan Center Community Arts hosts this family-friendly event on the first Saturday of the month. Cultivate your child’s artistic curiosity with thematic art workshops led by local artists, art organizations, and UChicago students. Families can sample a range of activities for ages 2–12 through hour-long sessions led by local artists.

WORKSHOPS

  Arts and Crafts with Live Arts Studio

• 2-3pm
  Screening of Wildest Dreams in partnership with the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. This short film is for dreamers, those who are willing to follow even their wildest dreams. What are your dreams? What dreams are made of? What matters most?

• 2:30-3:15pm
  Join Vienna Carroll and The Folk's Keith Johnston in a lively afternoon of African American songs and stories about family, friends, freedom, and fun. One Love.

• 3-4pm
  Learn fun African history along with basic sounds of Djembe and Doudoun Drums with African Drum Instructor and Self Autism Advocate Victoria Boateng
